2017 AGM

Post by Jes@GCRE » Wed Jul 12, 2017 10:45 am

Can someone please remind me the date for this?

Trying to plan a very crowded autumn!

Thanks,

Jes

From the minutes

http://pedalcarracing.info/download/agm ... inutes.pdf

JF suggested Hillingdon on 22nd October 2017 to coincide with the last round of the BHPC
championship and AGM.
No other suggestions were put forward.
The committee are to advise on date and format.

I have looked at a couple of options near to me with a bar and an interesting tour option but all are probably too expensive (circa £200+)

I know Steph will moan, but all the recent AGMs have been south of Birmingham, perhaps this one ought to be futher north and maybe Gary can suggest somewhere.

Subject to the date not hitting Half Term (31/10 - 3/11) for obvious reasons I'd wondered if somewhere around Cov would again split the Manchester Bournemouth route in half, which would tie in with getting down from EY.

The only issue with having the AGM at the BHPC event is that somebody else would have to chair it (if that matters) because I'm organising the racing at Hillingdon...
Hillingdon is actually ridiculously cheap to hire for the day (like £100 for the track and clubhouse etc) so we could potentially have the meeting combined with some fun races/trying out new drivers/cars etc if it's available the following week or whatever...

I am definitely not around then either - last weekend of the season on the railway.

It would be good to get more teams taking an interest if possible. I'm sure we could all name pretty much everyone who is likely to turn up.

I suppose one option that would please Steph if there is a suitable meeting room would be to go to the Bournemouth Hospital car park. Quick AGM and then races in the car park. Could we get a few Ringwood/New Milton area people to turn up and possibly join?

Other than that what about http://www.gcrailway.co.uk/special-serv ... att-house/

Looks lovely, but as Alan says, it's 4 hours from Ringwood.

To be perfectly honest, I wonder if the club room at Shenington might serve.

Depends if we want just a room for an AGM or something more

I could get our Scout Hut, seats 25+, can do Tea/Coffee and its only 5 minutes off A34 at Oxford.

In the past unless we've had something interesting for people to see very few have turned up.

What was the decision on this please?

Especially, seeing as it is also Prize Giving this year.

I mean, you could have it the day after Shenington in a marquee I guess!

I'd forgotten that to be honest!!
I wonder if the day after Cuborough may work, somewhere near to Curborough, encouraging people to camp over and socialise after the race.

Apparently Aston Martin Owners Club Sprints are at Curborough on the Sunday so people may want to stay and watch it and include our AGM as well, but we'd need a Marquee and hope its not too cold.

If you don't fancy a marquee you could try https://www.curboroughcountrysidecentre ... ls-tearoom its not far away at all and they will hire out their Farmhouse Conservatory

However I still doubt we'd get many staying, and those that do will probably want to get off home or have YP with them that they need to get home. Even kev (who likes to stay and have a bbq/beer and upset people :D ) has hinted that he may not camp this time if he isn't towing.
