Yeah i looked at mileage last night and wombwell is closer for us and probably most others. Camping at hesley wood seems to work and i'm sure with a bit of work we might be able to book a bigger or several buildings and have more teams stay over, all subject to Scout rules etc.....

I'd stick with what we have already posted so we can get dates out early. Th only addition i would make is that if Steph (if we ask her) was willing to run a race down south and did find a suitable venue we could go back to 7 rounds or re-instate Solihull.

R1 Sun 25 March 18 4th weekend (if available)
Venue Wombwell with Gary Team 105 to organise

R2 Sat 28 Apr 18 4th full weekend
Venue Bruntingthorpe (unless Steph comes up with a good alternative down her way)

R3 Sat 30 June - Sun 1 July 18 tbc 5th weekend
Venue Shenington organiser ??? Jes ???

R4 Sat 1 Sept 18 1st weekend
Venue Blackbushe organiser Dave

R5 Sun 2 Sept 18 1st weekend
Venue Blackbushe organiser Dave

R6 Sat 29 Sept 18 5th weekend
Venue Curborough organiser ??? Jes ???

We have 2 out of 6 rounds in the south.
1 in the north and 3 in the middle.

Personally I think the geographical balance is ok.

I am sure it's minuted in the 2015 AGM minutes that I am trying to not do this.

Pretty sure not everyone agrees.

At least 1 person was muttering into their beard all the way through the AGM that everything we were trying to do was pretty much rubbish ;-) .

I definitely won't do it unless Bruntingthorpe remains as the previous round anyway. Just when we are starting to build up some interest in the event, it would be nonsensical to move away to North Wales or somewhere where we have neither an organiser or a race controller.

But Jes you're only organising Bruntingthorpe and Curborough, running two teams and providing cars for half the grid at every race. Oh and booking a few circuits and doing a bit of promotional stuff.
Can't think why you might want a break from organising Shenington...

So its almost settled then?

R1 Sun 25 March 18 4th weekend (if available)
Venue Wombwell with Gary Team 105 to organise

R2 Sat 28 Apr 18 4th full weekend
Venue Bruntingthorpe Mark as organiser?

R3 Sat 30 June - Sun 1 July 18 tbc 5th weekend
Venue Shenington organiser ??? Jes ???

Vacant Sun 29th July - reserved for re-instated round (Solihull or Steph comes up with a good alternative down her way)

R4 Sat 1 Sept 18 1st weekend
Venue Blackbushe organiser Dave & Notnray

R5 Sun 2 Sept 18 1st weekend
Venue Blackbushe organiser Dave & Notnray

R6 Sat 29 Sept 18 5th weekend
Venue Curborough organiser ??? Jes ???

Can we firm these up by 1st June then i can get another couple of banners done with race calendar on to hang at events

Yes.

I will get the address off Chris and talk to the Bruntingthorpe owner to see if we can have the weekend 7 days closer to the exams if that is the desire of the committee.

Whether Swebbelli will therefore put a team in - being composed of years 9 to 12 aged kids is another question.

But I am sure, away from the Windsor Weekend, other teams will fill that 3 car gap. :)

Following on from yesterday I think we are very close to having this event absolutely nailed.

The weather, of course, helped no end.

Massive work from Mark and Dave to get us underway as promptly as they did given the difficulties at the start. Above and beyond the call of duty and patience!!

Definitely the most enjoyable Bruntingthorpe race so far.
There was a really nice atmosphere all day. The standard of driving (from the youngsters especially) was amazing on such a twisty track. I can't remember any significant incidents during my stints.

I don't think he's on here. Perhaps he should be because I think Phil was.

Yes, no traffic problems except the occasional over-enthusiastic move but "we all make mistakes" :) .

Phil is and hair has posted so he is on here. Need to see if we need to increase his access level though

So I'm confused, what date or dates do we need to ask Bruntingthorpe for? Given even this year it seemed somewhat confused on their side I was not going to start talking 2018 before 2017 had even happened!
