Just out of interest did anyone actually get my mail out of entry forms several weeks ago?

To be fair, Alan and myself probably aren't on the mailing list as it would have been a bit of a waste of a stamp.

No exactly! But Notnray should have done. I posted 40 of the things! Any idea for example about Flying Penguins? Royce? Velo?

Because it was agreed at the AGM that this would happen?

Hi All
Apologies for being off the radar for the last few months, unfortunately wont be able to get too involved this year with the racing. Got a few vision problems with a chronic eye condition to sort out over the next few months.
Just entered the number 1 car for the Shrewsbury race, so hopefully 9 cars now.

All the best to you.

OK, so round 1 went off without a hitch.
The organisation on the day was great, the teams all turned up and performed and the 2 cars at the front had a very good race with each other. Everyone deserves a big "well done", especially given the difficult circumstances.

However, we do need to make some decisions based on it.

1: Are we happy to be running events with 12 cars taking part? If not, what are we going to do about it?

2: Are we thinking that Shrewsbury is a Good Place to be racing given the state of the pits. Imagine what that would have been like if it had rained for example.

3: Are we going to carry on racing in "public" places such as this but not advertise our presence to anyone in the vicinity?

1. NO! 12 is definitely not enough. We need healthy competition in all the classes at least. Having said that, as things stand 12 entries on the Bruntingthorpe sheet will be something of a relief!!!
Pleased to see marc Lohez has offered to help with publicity and it will be very interesting to hear his ideas.

2. Shrewsbury is not the most exciting track to race on and we had a minor issue with kids throwing stones (which Bob dealt with very well).

3. I really hope not...

1/ agreed 12 is not enough need PC3/4 teams as well. Hope it was just time & location that caused it

2/ i don't think what we were promised (changing rooms/showers/cafe) outweighs the state of the grassed areas. Looking at videos/photos of the track in jan/feb we could have been looking at a disaster if the mud had still been on the track. Although its easy for most to get to compared to wombwell i think we need to review for next season (Can wombwell open up clubhouse for changing etc)

3/ i did bring one banner, maybe we could have put it up in a better place and also advertised ourselves better (banner and season guide in cafe) but we may have been restricted by the sports village as to what we can do.

I am already working with Marc on publicity.
But I need someone to get all over twitter to be honest.
I can do the 2 facebook posts most days.
I have had the need for #hashtags better explained but I can't tweet that often.

I am more concerned about the grass (or lack of it) than the track - dull though it is.

Possibly sticking my neck out, but I would ignore the fact that Guy Martin wears his helmet in a slightly unconventional way (he always seems to wear it like that on mountain bike as well) and splash his picture everywhere we can... Probably the best publicity opportunity we have in my opinion given his high profile at the moment...
