Out of curiosity, why can number 20 not be used? I can understand 30/40/50 etc

I'm only doing what i was told ;)

Although i suppose if cars 20 and 1 came past at same time if it was said car 20, 1 it could sound like 21
same as 30, 40, 50 etc

Fair enough that makes sense. I thought maybe it was because 30 sounds like 13, 40 like 14 etc, hence looking at it that way 20 would have been ok. Was just curious.

I think this all stemmed from the Eyres Monsel race when we had some volunteer lap counters using a paper and pencil system who made this suggestion.

If car 20 followed by car 1 came across the line, they reasonned that "20...1" if you are calling numbers to someone who is ticking them off sounded just like "21".

These days with the lap counting as it is, it's probably not as important but there is always the chance we will have a complete laptop failure or something and have to resort to manual counting again.

Or, of course, we could just say "This is an Honesty Race, please can teams count their own laps!"

Permission to knock all the teams listed that didn't bother to turn up last year down the page in order to add Knightriders as a new 2016 Team ?

Only if

1/ They have red sweeping light on front of car
2/ The car is called KITT
3/ The team members are all called Michael or 'The Hoff' and wear leather jackets

Please add a note to page to explain why the change to numbers. I would actually delete the ones who didn't race and say numbers allocated on first come first allocated............
