Blackbushe Weekend Updated Information and Expression of interest

Blackbushe Weekend Updated Information and Expression of interest

Following the announcement about further relaxation of restrictions from 4th July the Exec Committee held a meeting on Sunday 28th June to discuss our options on how we restart racing.
Currently we are very much intending to run the Blackbushe Weekend on it’s scheduled date of 5-6th Sept if current restrictions are relaxed further and subject to government restrictions in place at the time. However given current guidance we think the format and duration of the race(s) will have to change. It will probably run on Sunday only as a endurance race and not sprints.

We have also received guidance from Scouts & Guides HQ and will be monitoring their “readiness level” as to when our younger teams (mostly Scout & Guides) can return to race.
It is probable that camping on site won’t be possible and in any case Scouts & Guides HQ do not intend to allow camping until after 25th Sept and they have reached “Green Level”.

However, the situation is still developing and therefore the position on this event will be reviewed at our next meeting in late July.

In the mean time, it would greatly help future planning if you can make your intention to enter this event known by submitting your team name & intentions using the form below

The entry deadline will be set once we have a better idea as to how to take the event forwards.

In the next few weeks there will also be a statement as to how we may expect to resume the British Pedal Car Championship which the committee are also working on at present.

Please state if you will race on Saturday, Sunday or both days although at present its unlikely that Saturday Sprints will take place

We really don't know whether camping will be possible on site yet but please indicate if you think you will require camping.

NB Current advice is no Scout camping until 25th Sept

The committee are keeping a close eye on the current Covid-19 situation and are working hard to find a way back to racing as soon as the current, and necessary, restrictions on daily life are relaxed to the extent where this is possible.

Currently, we are very much intending to run the 24 hours of Shenington on it’s scheduled weekend of June 27th – 28th and we are liaising with the circuit to this end.

However, the situation is still developing and therefore the position on this event will be reviewed during the 1st week of May.

Last chance to order food for the Shenington 24 hour race

Dear competitor,

Last chance to order food for the Shenington 24 hour race is rapidly approaching.

If they do not get enough pre-orders in the next few days they are (for the 1st time) threatening to withdraw their services.

Therefore please can you get the orders in as soon as possible. Certainly by next Friday absolute latest.

Click 2019 Cafe Menu from Bear Grills Cafe who have been catering for the Shenington 24 hour race since 2009.

This year’s “meal deal” is just £14 a head to cover you from Friday night through to Sunday breakfast.

I’m sure that even if you don’t quite know who is going to be in your team, you’ve probably got a fairly good idea as to how many of them they will be at this stage so please get your orders in.

Details on how to book and to contact Tony are in attached photos.

Remember this is a “use it or lose it” service.

Thank you.

Jes
